Job summary

Coherent Corp. is seeking an experienced engineer to lead the introduction of crystal components, optical elements, and photonic subassemblies from concept through production release.

You will interface with customers, engineering, and manufacturing to ensure successful product qualification, documentation, and lifecycle management. Experience in photonics, laser systems, and nonlinear optics is essential, with SolidWorks proficiency a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or Materials Science.
• 5+ years of relevant industry experience; advanced degrees accepted.
• Experience with photonics, laser systems, and nonlinear optics.
• Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks.

Responsibilities

• Lead introduction of crystal components, optical elements, and photonic subassemblies from concept through production release.
• Serve as primary technical interface between customers, engineering, and manufacturing.
• Evaluate prototype requests for feasibility, manufacturability, and scalability; assess materials and phase-matching requirements.
• Generate and maintain product documentation; coordinate cross-functional activities to optimize schedules.
• Ensure products meet specifications and manufacturing readiness; lead phase-gate reviews and lifecycle management.
• Develop and maintain project metrics, reporting systems, and NPI dashboards for program status.
