Job summary

Otis Elevator Company in Florence, SC seeks an Electrical Engineer to drive electrical design across the NPI and PLM lifecycle for elevator systems. You will ensure timely, safe, and compliant designs and coordinate with cross-functional teams.

Requirements include a BS in electrical engineering and 2+ years of experience, with hands-on PLM (Windchill) and ECR/ECN experience. This on-site role supports growth in a global leader.

Qualifications

• BS Degree in electrical engineering or similar.
• 2+ years engineering experience.
• Electrical system design (control panels, power distribution, safety circuits) BOM structuring and configuration management.
• Understanding of system integration (electrical + mechanical + software).
• Knowledge of EN, IEC, ASME A17.1.
• Root cause analysis and problem solving.
• Hands-on experience with PLM tools (Windchill, or similar).
• Engineering change management (ECR/ECN).
• Familiarity with stage-gate/NPI processes.
• Data accuracy and structured documentation mindset.
• Accountability for deliverables and deadlines.
• Strong collaboration and teamwork.
• Analytical thinking and attention to detail.
• Effective communication across global teams.
• Continuous improvement mindset.
• Ability to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Support full NPI lifecycle: concept, design, validation, industrialization, and launch.
• Deliver electrical designs aligned with system requirements and program timelines.
• Participate in design reviews, DFMEA, and risk mitigation activities.
• Coordinate prototype builds, testing, and validation with cross-functional teams.
• Create and maintain product structures and BOMs in PLM systems.
• Execute ECR/ECN workflows ensuring accuracy and traceability.
• Maintain configuration control and technical documentation integrity.
• Support obsolescence management and part substitutions.
• Support electrical testing, verification, and certification processes.
• Analyze test results and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure adherence to safety codes and quality standards.
