Job summary

Pierce Manufacturing, an Oshkosh company, is seeking a Category Specialist – New Product Introduction to support development, engineering changes, and launches.

This role partners with Engineering, Program Management, Finance, Operations, and Suppliers to ensure sourcing, commercial setup, and readiness for prototype and production needs.

This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize, and drive cross-functional actions to closure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and three or more years of experience in supply chain management or a related field.
• Ability to travel 10-20%.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Review engineering change notices to understand requirements, sourcing needs, and ERP setup.
• Execute sourcing activities including RFQs, quote analysis, supplier evaluation, and selection.
• Facilitate collaboration between engineering and suppliers for manufacturability and conformance to drawings.
• Procure capital tooling for new or changed components, aligning on cost and timing.
• Develop and execute supply plans for prototype, pre-production, and production launches.
• Identify and mitigate supplier lead-time risks impacting development or launch schedules.
• Lead cross-functional problem-solving to expedite critical material and close launch risks.
• Build relationships across Engineering, Operations, Quality, Program Management, and Purchasing.
