Job summary

Allegion is seeking an experienced NPD Procurement Manager for Carmel, IN to develop strategies and manage proto component sourcing. You will drive supplier involvement, manage costs, schedules and quality across global suppliers, and lead cross-functional teams to achieve program targets.

The role requires a bachelor’s in a related field and 7+ years in procurement, with strong negotiation, DFSS/DFMEA knowledge, and international sourcing experience. Travel up to 15% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.
• 7+ years of experience in Engineering, Supply Chain or Procurement, including supervisory roles.
• Experience with supplier development, international sourcing and PCBA/electronic components is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop a NPD Procurement strategy and plan aligned with global manufacturing strategy to minimize cost at start-up.
• Drive early supplier involvement and support DFSS/DFMEA efforts with critical suppliers.
• Lead cost targets, supplier negotiations, and production part schedules to meet program goals.
• Oversee procurement of prototype components and manage related timelines and budgets.
• Track development schedules, material costs, tooling, working capital, quality, and warranty metrics.
• Maintain supplier quality programs and continuity of supply while building strong cross-functional partnerships.
• Travel up to 15%, including international travel, to support sourcing initiatives.

NPD Procurement Manager – Carmel, IN

What You Will Do:

• Utilize Procurement processes, tools and commodity playbooks to develop a NPD Procurement strategy and plan in accordance to the global manufacturing strategy to ensure that the lowest manufacturing cost is achieved at production start-up.


• Drive early supplier involvement and aid in DFSS and DFMEA efforts with critical suppliers.


• Drive initiatives in alignment with Procurement strategy to achieve program cost targets including: diligent project cost tracking, supplier negotiations, Pre-production part and component delivery schedules.


• Manage the process to purchase prototype components from suppliers.


• Develop and track the following project deliverables: development schedule, product cost including material, tooling costs, working capital (lead-time reduction and inventory management) and asset management, Quality and Warranty, Component reuse to further improving the financial results.


• Manage and assure acceptable quality levels and continuity of supply for all new components through leadership of supplier management and supplier quality programs.


• Build strong, value added relationship with suppliers, internal customers & cross functional departments.


• Operate in a professional manner with the highest personal integrity and in accordance with Allegion’s Code of Ethical Conduct and compliance policies.

What You Need to Succeed:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, Engineering or related field.


• 7+ years of experience in roles of increasing responsibility in the areas of Engineering, Supply Chain & Procurement, NPD, Sourcing or related field, including supervisory.


• Electronic component procurement and manufacturing experience preferred.


• Demonstrated success in supplier development across regions & responsibility for high level negotiations.


• Experience in PCBA contract manufacturing and electronic component sourcing preferred.


• Strong business acumen, analytical thinking, project management and process development skills.


• Must be a strategic thinker and have demonstrated experience driving strategies.


• Demonstrated experience running multiple, large complex cross functional projects.


• Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively engage and influence at all levels of the organization.


• Experience in international sourcing experience a plus.


• Ability to travel up to 15% including international travel.
