Job summary

Dover Food Retail seeks a New Product Development / Design to Value Engineer to drive cost-optimized redesigns of refrigerated merchandisers and related products. In this role you will apply value engineering, collaborate with sourcing and manufacturing, manage DTV projects from concept to completion, and develop CAD models and validation tests to ensure customer requirements are met.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Engineering and 1–3 years of experience in industrial product design.
• Experience in refrigeration or related thermal management is preferred in manufacturing contexts.

Responsibilities

• Apply value engineering methodologies to optimize costs on existing products.
• Collaborate with Strategic Sourcing and Manufacturing Engineering to implement cost saving projects.
• Manage the DTV project from concept to completion, including scheduling and cross functional communication.
• Brainstorm new and innovative solutions to achieve product standardization and modularity.
• Develop CAD solid models and engineering simulation of proposed concepts.
• Collaborate with Product Management to validate the solution with the customer.
• Develop a test plan and work with the Engineering Lab to validate the solution.
• Conduct field tests to validate the solution.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, demonstrates capability to solve difficult and complex problems
