Job description

NPD Design Engineer

Location: Chandler, AZ (Onsite)

Responsibilities

The NPD Design Engineer will serve as a responsible engineer across multiple new product development programs, owning technical execution from concept through qualification and production support.

• Own and manage multiple concurrent engineering programs within a fast‑paced NPD environment
• Develop and execute engineering plans aligned to customer requirements and program timelines
• Support customer meetings and interpret customer specifications and develop compliance matrices
• Perform design analysis including structural, reliability, and statistical evaluation, as well as present technical information including PDRs and CDRs
• Create and maintain engineering documentation, drawings, and technical data packages
• Support prototype/pathfinder development with hands‑on troubleshooting
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with manufacturing, test, quality, and program management teams
• Support qualification testing, failure analysis, and production launch activities
• Contribute to continuous improvement, cost reduction, and design for manufacturability
• Design with automation and scalability in mind

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of DOE, FMEA, and DFMA (required)
• Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD software (required)
• Experience with FEA tools (ANSYS, SolidWorks Simulation) strongly preferred
• Ability to interpret customer specifications and technical requirements
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, including statistical analysis
• GD&T knowledge preferred
• Aerospace, defense, or related industry experience preferred
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience
• 2+ years of experience required;5+ years preferred
