Job summary

Ralliant is seeking a New Product Development Manager to lead mid-scale programs from proposal through launch, ensuring performance, cost, and schedule targets are met. You will drive strategic initiatives, develop pricing strategies, and present program status to leaders and customers, with opportunities across multiple sites (CA and AZ).

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in a technical and manufacturing environment in the aerospace/defense industry.
  • DOD pricing and contract experience desired.
  • 2+ years of leading a development IPT or supervisory responsibility preferred.
  • Ability to work on site as needed with some remote options.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively use Microsoft Office Suite to perform daily job tasks.

Summary: The New Product Development Manager leads mid-scale product development programs from proposal through launch, ensuring products meet performance, cost, and schedule targets. It manages IPT teams, program budgets, integrated master schedules, and customer relationships. Responsibilities include proposal development, pricing analysis, contract negotiations, and presenting program status to leadership and customers. The role also drives strategic business growth by partnering with PLM and Applications Engineering, supports multi-site proposal efforts, serves as a subject matter expert for advanced product development processes, and handles sensitive company information.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop new products and identify the best product options and offerings to meet performance and cost targets.
  • Leads IPT team for medium sized development programs from proposal through successful product launch and first production delivery, for customer funded or IR&D authorized funded development efforts.
  • Budget responsibility for assigned programs, including meeting Product Cost Targets based on future business projections determined with Product Line Management (PLM).
  • Develops and maintains positive customer relationships and ensures the customer's contractual requirements are fulfilled. Has responsibility for maintaining program schedule in accordance with customer and PSEMC requirements, controlling expenditures within the program budget, updating estimate to complete by program.
  • Reviews customer requests for quote and makes bid/no bid recommendations for opportunities involving product development.
  • Generates and releases program work authorization documentation defining the scope of work, schedule requirements, program budget, contractual requirements, and data items.
  • Prepares and presents program review reports for Advanced Product Development management.
  • Supports presentations for assigned proposals/programs to management and customers.
  • Maintains positive communication and relationships with all company functional areas to ensure program and customer requests and schedules are met, while maintaining an overall perspective of the goals of the company.
  • SME (Subject Matter Expert) for the APD and related processes.
  • Conduct analysis and modeling based on key pricing inputs to develop optimal pricing recommendations.
  • Identify and highlight key strategic considerations, develop credible business cases, and communicate rationale to senior management.
  • Gather input from the Integrated Project Team to develop preliminary integrated master schedule (IMS) at the bid phase and manages and updates the IMS when acting as primary PM on program.
  • Ensures proposed schedules are achievable and facility capacity will be available at the time of anticipated order placement.
  • Responsible for the proposal schedule, cost to prepare proposal and budget.
  • Conducts contract negotiations on assigned programs in concert with the assigned Contract Manager.
  • Manage and lead major proposal efforts and programs across sites (CA and AZ).
  • Leads presentations for assigned proposals/programs to Management and Customers.
  • Works with PLM and Applications Engineering to develop and implement plans and strategies for expanding business opportunities with existing and new customers through the development and marketing of new products.
  • Manage and lead major proposal efforts and programs including those that involve multi-factory input.
  • Exposure to significant amounts of company sensitive information and data.
  • Travel as required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Project Engineering experience a plus.

Pay Range

The salary range for this position (in local currency) is 83400.00-155000.00
