Essentia Health in Fargo, ND invites an Advanced Practice Clinician to join the Spine Center. You will lead care coordination with PM&R, Neurosurgery, Chiropractic, PT/OT and Pain Medicine, perform intake assessments, and contribute to spine care best practices.

The role emphasizes patient-centered care, back-pain management, and collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team. The position is 1.0 FTE, with day hours Mon–Fri and remote/hybrid options.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctorate in NP or PA program from an accredited program.
• Current ND RN license if NP and ND NP/PA licensure required.
• Minnesota license within 1 year of employment.
• Current CPR certification and national certification in applicable area.
• Successful Essentia Health credentialing prior to practice.

Responsibilities

• Care coordination for the Spine Program with multidisciplinary team.
• Lead change in spine care best practices and perform intake assessments.
• Collaborate with PM&R, Neurosurgery, Chiropractic, PT/OT and Pain Medicine clinics.
• Handle 12–16 adult outpatients per day; strong communication and leadership required.
• Utilize EPIC electronic medical record in daily practice.

Provides health care to individuals and families, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention. They may care for patients ranging in age from newborn to elderly as noted in age-related category and area of expertise.

We are seeking an Advanced Practice Clinician to assist in care & coordination of our Spine Program. Candidates will be given the opportunity to lead change in providing best practices in spine care while providing initial intake assessments. Our interdisciplinary team will involve members from our PM&R, Neurosurgery, Chiropractic, PT/OT and Pain Medicine clinics as this complex program expands through care coordination.

• 1.0 FTE, full-time status


• Mon-Fri between 8a-5p (36 patient contact hours per week)


• Musculoskeletal interest and training preferred


• Continuous collaboration with spine nurse navigator and other team members


• Experience with management of back pain; opioid titration


• Anticipate 12-16 adult outpatients per day


• Strong communication & leadership skills desired


• EPIC electronic medical record

The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant utilizes advanced health assessment, knowledge, and decision-making skills, the NP/PA works independently and in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals. NP/PAs provide health care to individuals and families, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention. They may care for patients ranging in age from newborn to elderly as noted in age-related category and area of expertise. Position requires high level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, co-workers, and others.

EDUCATION/TRAINING:

• Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nurse Practitioner or Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Physician Assistant program from an accredited program/institution.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

• Current licensure as a registered nurse in North Dakota (if NP).


• Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant North Dakota.


• Minnesota License within 1 year of employment


• Current certification in CPR


• National certification, in applicable area.


• Successful completion of Essentia Health credentialing process prior to practice.
