Job summary

CPS Healthcare is seeking a PRN NP/PA to provide medical care at Middlesex House of Corrections in Billerica, MA. You will join a multidisciplinary team delivering internal and emergency medicine, detox, and obstetrics/gynecology to inmates. The role requires 3–5 years of NP/PA experience, an NP license, and CPR certification. Ability to commute to Boston is expected.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assess the physical, psychological, and social needs of patients.
• Obtain health histories and apply clinical knowledge to evaluate conditions.
• Provide written assessments at admission, during confinement, and at discharge.
• Develop individualized treatment plans using approved protocols.
• Coordinate referrals to appropriate providers within the Medical Department.
• Administer medications, including IV therapy, per physician orders.
• Document nursing encounters using SOAP charting.

Job Summary:
We are seeking a PRN NP/PA Medical Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant at the Middlesex House of Corrections in Billerica MA.

Correctional Medicine offers the opportunity to practice internal and emergency medicine, detoxification, obstetrics and gynecology, and more. Providers are members of a supportive multidisciplinary team providing full-scale healthcare to the inmate population. We offer very competitive pay, excellent benefits, and flexible work schedules.

Responsibilities

• Assess the physical, psychological, and social needs of patients.
• Obtain health histories and apply clinical knowledge to evaluate conditions.
• Provide written assessments upon admission, during confinement, and at discharge.
• Summarize data and make triage decisions communicated to care providers.
• Develop individualized treatment plans using approved protocols.
• Coordinate referrals to appropriate providers within the Medical Department.
• Consult with nurses, physicians, and correctional staff as needed.
• Administer medications, including IV therapy, in accordance with physician orders.
• Conduct diagnostic tests and communicate results to ancillary departments.
• Implement nutrition and therapeutic diet plans as ordered.
• Document nursing encounters using SOAP charting.
• Communicate patient information to staff, physicians, and department heads.
• Identify and address existing or potential issues in patient care.
• Recommend improvements in procedures, equipment, and supplies.
• Assist with staff education and in-service training.
• Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment.
• Adhere to CPS policies, state practice acts, and Code of Ethics for Nurses.
• Participate in quality assurance and chart review processes.
• Accept additional duties or shifts as assigned.
• Follow all security rules and regulations.

Schedule:

• PRN - Day Shift

Salary:

• $75 per hour
