Job summary

Cook Children's in San Angelo Regional Specialty Clinic seeks a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the West TX Cardiology team. You will assess, diagnose, and manage medically complex pediatric patients in collaboration with physicians, following approved protocols.

In this role you will support physicians, coordinate with related specialties, and provide office coverage during absences. Licensure in Texas and CPR are required; PALS is preferred for selected areas.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree as APRN with Texas license required.
  • Certification as Pediatric or Family Practice Nurse Practitioner.
  • Current Basic Life Support (CPR) required; PALS preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Autonomously performs patient assessment, diagnosis and intervention per approved protocols.
  • Supports physician in developing and maintaining patient care; collaborates with specialties.
  • Provides office coverage during physician absences and may admit/discharge patients.

Collaborates with specialties and maintains continuity of care. Provides office coverage for physician(s) during periods of absence. Prescribes a variety of modalities to meet wellness and illness needs, up to and including hospital admission/discharge and prescriptive authority.
