Job summary

Essentia Health in Duluth seeks a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join nephrology care. You will provide comprehensive care in clinic, inpatient, and dialysis settings, collaborating with physicians to manage complex chronic diseases.

The role involves travel with variable start times, rounding 12 office patients and 12–15 dialysis patients daily; 5% clinic, 5% hospital, 90% dialysis. Bonuses and incentives may apply.

Job Description:

Utilizes advanced health assessment, knowledge, and decision making skills, works independently and in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals. Provides health care to individuals and families, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention.

Education Qualifications:

This position will assist our patients by utilizing a strong team-based approach to care, with a high integration of APP and MDs for the clinic, and inpatient and dialysis units for all 3 phases of nephrology care.

• Desired skill set: Experience in complex chronic disease management


• Typical Shift: up to 0.4 FTE per pay period


• 5% clinic work


• 5% hospital work


• 90% dialysis rounding


• Ideal candidate does not need to live in the Duluth area; candidate could live in areas near Virginia, MN or Grand Rapids, MN as there is travel involved with this position


• Schedule: Variable start and end times due to travel


• Estimated Patients Per Day: 12 (office), 12-15 (dialysis). Adult patients only (18+)


• Other responsibilities: Assist Physicians with non-encounter work

Hired candidates may be eligible to receive additional compensation in the form of bonuses, quality incentives or production-based compensation.
