Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited college/university NP / PA program
• Must possess current licenses or certifications in the state of employment
• Experience in Correctional desired but not required
• Maintains required annual licensure and credentialing requirements for physician assistants / Nurse Practitioner in the healthcare unit.

Responsibilities

• Responds to and initiates care for medical needs within a correctional setting.
• Provides ambulatory care under physician supervision.
• Delivers patient education to inmates and staff.
• Documents all healthcare contacts accurately and timely.
• Adheres to safety, security policies and infection control practices.
• Supervises other team members as appropriate.
• Attends required trainings and meetings.
