Job summary

VitalCore Health Strategies is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for the Macomb Correctional Facility in Lenox, Michigan. The role blends ambulatory care in a correctional setting with supervision under a licensed physician.

You will perform emergency responses, clinical assessments, patient education, and detailed documentation while enforcing safety policies. This is a full-time position with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited NP/PA program.
• Must possess current licenses or certifications in the state of employment.
• Correctional experience desired but not required.
• Maintains required annual licensure and credentialing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Responds to and initiates care for medical emergencies throughout the facility.
• Identifies patient health problems and prescribes treatment under physician direction.
• Implements medical care utilizing regimens approved by a physician.
• Provides education to inmate/patient, healthcare staff, and correctional staff.
• Documents all healthcare contacts.
• Adheres to safety and security policies and participates in disaster drills.
• Delegates to and supervises other team members as appropriate.
• Adheres to universal precautions and infection control practices.
• Attends training and meetings as required.
