Job summary

Southcoast Health in Middletown, RI seeks a skilled NP-PA to join its Cardiology team. This full-time, day-shift role offers 40 hours per week with no weekend, holiday, or on-call requirements.

You will work under physician supervision to perform rounds, assess progress, coordinate discharge planning, and manage exams and follow-ups, including ordering labs and prescribing medications as needed. You will also support triage calls and document findings per CPT guidelines.

Qualifications

• PA requires Bachelor's Degree in a related field and AMA-approved PA program.
• Physician Assistant certification to practice required.
• MSN for Nurse Practitioner and national certification required.
• Massachusetts RN registration required.
• NP/PA certificates required; at least 3 months clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct rounds under supervision, coordinating care and discharge planning.
• Assess patient progress; order tests and prescribe medications as needed.
• Act as resource for phone triage nurses and parent calls.
• Document findings accurately per CPT billing regulations.

We are looking for a talented NP-PA to join our Cardiology team.

Hours: Full-time - 40 hours.

Shift: Day shift - no weekend, holiday or on-call

**Available to regular status employees who are scheduled to work a minimum of 24 hours.

• Under the general supervision and direction of the Physician, Office Manager or designee, conduct hospital rounds as directed by individually assigned Physician.
• Assess assigned patient progress and assist in the coordination of care and discharge planning.
• Perform exams, episodic illness visits and follow-up care visits which may require ordering laboratory testing and prescribing medications as needed.
• Act as a resource and/or consultant to phone triage nurses and take phone calls from parents as requested.
• Chart all findings completely and accurately in accordance with (Current Procedural Terminology) CPT billing regulations pertaining to patient visits.

• Physician Assistant: Bachelors Degree in a related field is required.
• Graduate of an A.M.A.-approved Physician Assistant program is required.
• Certification from a National accrediting body to practice as a Physician Assistant is required.
• Nurse Practitioner: Masters of Science Degree in Nursing is required.
• Certification from a National accrediting body to practice as a Nurse Practitioner is required.
• Current Massachusetts R.N. registration is required.
• Nurse Practitioner Certificate/Physician Assistant Certificate is required.
• Over 3 months experience.
