Job summary

American Academy of Family Physicians is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join our Family Medicine team in San Marcos, TX. This outpatient role focuses on comprehensive, patient-centered primary care within a collaborative setting and emphasizes building long-term patient relationships in the community.

The ideal candidate will hold a Texas NP license with national certification (AANP or ANCC) and have experience in family medicine.

Qualifications

• Current Texas license as a Nurse Practitioner.
• National certification (AANP or ANCC).
• Previous experience in family medicine or primary care preferred.
• Strong clinical judgment and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide full-scope primary care including preventive services, acute care, and chronic disease management.
• Perform patient evaluations, physical exams, and routine screenings.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, labs, and imaging.
• Develop and manage individualized treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
• Educate patients on wellness, disease prevention, and lifestyle modifications.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the EMR.
• Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to ensure coordinated patient care.

Schedule & Compensation

• Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

• Outpatient only
