Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of critical care or cardiovascular nursing experience.

• CCRN preferred.
• National certification in a nurse practitioner specialty preferred.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Graduate of an accredited nurse practitioner program.
• Licensure as a nurse practitioner in the state of California.
• Current BLS / ACLS Certification.
• Current furnishing number or eligible from the California BRN.
• Current DEA registration or eligible.

Responsibilities

• Independently provide examination, evaluation and treatment recommendations for cardiovascular patients using standardized protocols.
• Daily rounding and patient care within the cardiovascular services team.
• Order diagnostic tests and prescribe therapies (pharmacological and non-pharmacological).
• Develop treatment plans to ensure continuum of care from admission to discharge.
• Communicate and document patient data; collaborate with other disciplines.
• Assist with development of clinical programs to enhance service delivery.

Position Summary

This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center. The employee shall support Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center’s strategic plan and participate in and advocate performance improvement/patient safety activities.
Under the directions of the Vice President of Patient Care Services and the Medical Director of Cardiovascular Services, the nurse practitioner functions as a member of the multidisciplinary cardiovascular services team using standardize protocols to independently provide examination, evaluation and recommendation for treatment of patients. Responsibilities include daily rounding and care of patient’s through performance of clinical duties including but not limited to, consultations, ordering of diagnostic tests, prescribing of pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapies, development of treatment plans to facilitate the continuum of care from admissions to discharge. The nurse practitioner must effectively communicate and document data relevant to the care of the patients. The nurse practitioner collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure safe and effective patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcome. In addition, the nurse practitioner, using evidenced based guidelines, assists with the development of clinical programs that enhance the delivery of services.

*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years 20 experience and qualifications. Minimum Requirements

• CCRN-American Association of Critical Care Nurse preferred

• National certification in a nurse practitioner specialty preferred
