Job summary

MemorialCare is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner in Cardiovascular with strong critical care and cardiovascular nursing background to join our Cardiology Pro Fee team in Fountain Valley, CA. This full-time position operates during day shifts and integrates into a multidisciplinary cardiovascular services team to provide examinations, evaluations and treatment recommendations.

The role requires CA NP licensure, CCRN preferred, and current BLS/ACLS.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of critical care or cardiovascular nursing experience
• Minimum of two years’ experience in similar nurse practitioner / coordinator role
• CCRN-American Association of Critical Care Nurse preferred
• National certification in a nurse practitioner specialty preferred
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Education/Licensure/Certification: Graduate of an accredited nurse practitioner program

Responsibilities

• Under the directions of the VP of Patient Care Services and Medical Director, the NP functions as a member of the cardiovascular services team using standardized protocols to independently provide examination, evaluation and treatment recommendations.
• Daily rounding and care of patients with clinical duties including consultations, ordering of diagnostic tests, prescribing therapies, and developing treatment plans for the care continuum from admission to discharge.
• Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure safe and effective patient care delivery and documentation of relevant data.
• Assists with development of clinical programs that enhance delivery of services using evidenced-based guidelines.

Position Summary

This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center. Under the directions of the Vice President of Patient Care Services and the Medical Director of Cardiovascular Services, the nurse practitioner functions as a member of the multidisciplinary cardiovascular services team using standardize protocols to independently provide examination, evaluation and recommendation for treatment of patients. Responsibilities include daily rounding and care of patient’s through performance of clinical duties including but not limited to, consultations, ordering of diagnostic tests, prescribing of pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapies, development of treatment plans to facilitate the continuum of care from admissions to discharge. The nurse practitioner must effectively communicate and document data relevant to the care of the patients. The nurse practitioner collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure safe and effective patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcome. In addition, the nurse practitioner, using evidenced based guidelines, assists with the development of clinical programs that enhance the delivery of services.

*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years 20 experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities.
