Job summary

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
• MA-RN License.
• MA licensure as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Master degree in Nursing.
• Mass Controlled Substances Registration.
• Certification in Genetic Testing from a nationally recognized accredited program within one year of hire.
• Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner certification in Women’s Health.
• BLS current certification.
• ACLS current certification.
• At least six months practice as a Nurse Practitioner.

Responsibilities

• Acts as liaison/advocate for patients with genetic traits or inherited diseases.
• Resource for physicians in identifying genetic structures for diagnosis.
• Initiates consultations for information and support to families with mutations or at risk.
• Identifies families at risk and discusses testing or treatment options.
• Collaborates with Medical Director and Breast Services.
• See patients at Cape Cod Hospital facilities.
• Keep physicians informed for review and involvement.
• Participate in patient follow-up as assigned.
• Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and staff.
• Ensure patient rights are met and communicate data to care team.
• Coordinate patient care with health team members.
• May assist in research related to genetic conditions or counseling.
• Contribute to Women’s Health program through community activities.
• Supervising physician reviews written notes with recommendations.
