Job summary

Little Dreamers Academy in Clarksville, TN is seeking a friendly Cook to prepare nutritious meals for preschool children. You will plan weekly menus, follow childcare nutritional guidelines, and keep a clean, organized kitchen.

Ideal candidates have experience in food service or childcare cooking, knowledge of food safety, and a positive, patient demeanor. Training and background check required.

Qualifications

• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen with a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve nutritious, age-appropriate meals and snacks for children daily.
• Plan and follow weekly menus in accordance with childcare nutritional guidelines.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment at all times.
• Monitor food inventory and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
• Adhere to food safety, handling, and storage regulations.
• Accommodate dietary restrictions, allergies, and special nutritional needs.
• Coordinate meal timing with classroom schedules to ensure smooth daily operations.

About the Role

Calling all kitchen superstars! Little Dreamers Academy is looking for a fun, energetic Cook to whip up delicious, nutritious meals that keep little tummies full and BIG dreams growing! If you love cooking, can handle a few pint-sized food critics, and enjoy serving up smiles, we want YOU on our Dream Team!

Payrate

$12.00 - $14.00 per Hour

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve nutritious, age-appropriate meals and snacks for children daily


• Plan and follow weekly menus in accordance with childcare nutritional guidelines


• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment at all times


• Monitor food inventory and assist with ordering supplies as needed


• Adhere to food safety, handling, and storage regulations
  
• Accommodate dietary restrictions, allergies, and special nutritional needs


• Coordinate meal timing with classroom schedules to ensure smooth daily operations

Requirements

• Previous experience in food service, institutional cooking, or childcare food preparation preferred


• Knowledge of USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) guidelines, not required but a PLUS!


• Ability to pass a background check and training as required for childcare environments


• Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, and proper storage practices


• Warm, nurturing demeanor with a genuine passion for working around children


• Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen setting
