Job summary

SeniorAge in Nixa, MO is seeking a part-time Culinary Assistant to help prepare and serve meals at the Nixa Senior Center. The role supports the Culinary Lead and performs safety-sensitive duties requiring attention to proper kitchen operations.

You will assist with food storage, prep, and service areas, while maintaining cleanliness and following instructions. Pre-employment drug testing and background checks are required.

Qualifications

• Completion of tenth grade required.
• Prior experience cooking in small groups preferred.
• Work experience in cooking for large groups may be substituted for education.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and have a good driving record.
• Food handlers certificate required; must be obtained within first 90 days of employment.
• ServSafe certificate required in applicable counties; must be obtained within the first year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and serving of meals.
• Clean and sanitize all food storage, preparation, and service areas.
• Perform Culinary Lead duties in their absence.
