Job summary

Withum is seeking a Not-for-Profit Audit Senior to be based out of any of our New Jersey office locations. You will lead audit engagements from planning to completion, supervising staff and cultivating client relationships while working with experienced CPAs.

You will oversee nonprofit attest procedures, collaborate on issue resolution, and manage multiple engagements with teams to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
• CPA or CPA eligible preferred.
• 2-3 years of public accounting experience with leading multiple engagements and staff supervision.
• Excellent analytical, technical, and auditing skills with familiarity with US GAAP.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engagement team staff on planning and execution of audit, review or compilation engagements.
• Oversee day-to-day operations of the audit engagement including staffing, planning, risk assessment, fieldwork and financial reporting.
• Provide supervision and mentorship to staff and facilitate communication with engagement manager and partner.
• Perform and oversee nonprofit-specific attest procedures, focusing on trade and membership organizations.
• Collaborate with managers and partners on client issue resolution and advise on regulatory/accounting issues arising during audits.
• Review schedules and ledger accounts for accurate entries.
• Manage multiple engagements with various teams to meet client deadlines.
• Create and monitor engagement budgets and identify inefficiencies.
• Conduct performance discussions with team members and promote professional development.
