Job summary

YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Worth is seeking a Massage Therapist to join our team. This role interacts with members to help achieve health goals and creates a welcoming environment for all backgrounds and abilities.

Responsibilities include assessing needs, guiding service selections, performing massages, and documenting progress while maintaining equipment and adhering to YMCA policies. This is a full-time position that supports the mission and values of our organization.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; LMT required; ASHI Basic Life Support.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Talk with members about symptoms, medical history, and desired results.
• Guide members through service offerings and help them choose the massages that would benefit them most.
• Evaluate members to locate painful or tense areas of the body.
• Design sessions around members' specific complaints or problem areas.
• Manipulate muscles or other soft tissues of the body.
• Listen to members during massages and adjust technique to meet their needs.
• Provide members with guidance on stretching, strengthening, relaxation, and posture.
• Suggest massage schedules for recurring sessions.
• Document member's condition and progress.
• Maintains and cleans equipment according to the schedule or as requested by supervisor.
• Follow YMCA policies and procedures; responds to emergency situations.
• Attends all staff meetings. Performs other duties as assigned.
