The University of Georgia invites applications for Research Technician positions to support Northern Bobwhite trapping, radio-telemetry tracking, and nest checks as part of field studies. Work is on site with supervision and opportunities to collaborate with the Georgia DNR; responsibilities include data entry and equipment maintenance.
Applicants should have an interest in game bird management and ecology, a good driving record, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Seeking Research Technicians to assist with Northern Bobwhite trapping, radio‑telemetry tracking, and nest checking of Northern Bobwhite as well as other associated fieldwork as part of larger experimental studies. Data entry, equipment maintenance, and other duties requested by supervisors. Selected individuals will also gain numerous opportunities to interact directly with the Georgia DNR. Employees will be working with minimal supervision on site and should be comfortable working independently. Previous experience with radio‑telemetry is desired. Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Excel, databases, and ArcGIS is desired. Applicants should be comfortable occasionally working alone after dark.
Lift up to 50 lbs. for brief periods and work in inclement weather. Driving.
