Job summary

American Welding & Gas Inc is seeking an Area Operations Director for the North Markets (Wisconsin/ Minnesota). The role oversees multiple branch locations, driving operational performance, safety, and customer satisfaction across distribution, logistics, and facilities.

The ideal candidate has hands-on leadership in industrial distribution or manufacturing and a proven ability to scale operations. The position requires strategic leadership, budget oversight, and collaboration with sales,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of progressive operations experience in industrial distribution, manufacturing, or logistics.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations and DOT logistics.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and day-to-day operational leadership for multiple branch locations and facilities.
• Ensure compliance with safety, OSHA, DOT, EPA, FDA requirements.
• Oversee logistics, distribution, inventory, and fleet management.
• Lead, coach, and develop branch managers and frontline supervisors.
• Manage regional budgets, labor costs, and capital expenditures; monitor KPIs.
