Job summary

Cumberland County School District is seeking a teacher assistant to support the instructional program at the assigned school. The role includes assisting in supervision and instruction of special needs students, observing and documenting progress, and implementing instructional plans.

The assistant will work with students in small groups to boost academic skills in ELA and Math and reports to the principal.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or 60 college hours or Parapro test.
• Ability to support instructional activities and supervise students.
• Experience working with diverse learners is a plus.

The job of teacher assistant was established for the purpose/s of providing support to the instructional program within the assigned school with specific responsibility for assisting in the supervision and instruction of special needs students; observing and documenting student progress; implementing plans for instruction; and assisting students in small group settings to increase academic skills in ELA and Math. This job reports to the principal.

Minimum requirements

Associate's degree or 60 semester hours of college credit, from an accredited college or university, or a passing score on the Parapro test.

182 days per year/7 hours per day
