Job summary

Cumberland County School District in Crossville, TN is seeking a Special Education Assistant to support the instructional program and supervise and assist in the instruction of students with special needs. This role reports to the principal and follows the 182-day school calendar.

You will assist the special education teacher with lesson planning, testing, and ISP execution, while observing and documenting student progress.

Qualifications

• Requires an Associate's degree or 60 credit hours or passing the Parapro test.
• Experience assisting in a special education setting is a plus.
• Ability to observe and document student progress for ISP and progress notes.

The job of Special Education Assistant was established for the purpose/s of providing support to the instructional program within the assigned school with specific responsibility for assisting in the supervision and instruction of special needs students; assists the special education teacher with lesson planning, testing and ISP execution; observing and documenting student progress. This job reports to the principal.

Minimum requirements: Associate's degree or 60 semester hours of college credit, from an accredited college or university, or a passing score on the Parapro test.
