Job summary

Volta in North America seeks a Project Risk Manager to lead risk management across our regional portfolio. You will guide risk depth, partner with engineering, procurement, and operations, and ensure proactive management of uncertainty to deliver programs on time and within budget.

You will sit with project teams to shape governance, assess risks, run quantitative analyses, and provide senior leadership with clear, actionable insights for successful project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Business, Finance, or related discipline or equivalent industry experience.
• Significant experience in risk management, project controls, or project delivery within complex EPC, construction, infrastructure, energy, or major capital programs.
• Demonstrated experience leading project and portfolio risk management with identification, assessment, mitigation, monitoring, escalation, and assurance.
• Strong understanding of cost, schedule, contingency, and project controls principles and their integration with risk management.
• Experience applying quantitative risk analysis and probabilistic techniques to evaluate project cost and schedule uncertainty.
• Experience with Monte Carlo simulation, cost/schedule risk analysis, scenario analysis, and contingency development.
• Knowledge of EPC contracting, procurement, supply chain, change management, and commercial risk.
• Ability to influence senior leaders and translate risk information into clear actions.
• Strong written, verbal, facilitation, and executive communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the regional risk management program across the North American portfolio with governance, standards, and escalation.
• Ensure risk management is integrated across design, procurement, construction, controls, and operations readiness.
• Provide independent risk oversight and challenge to project and functional leadership.
• Promote a proactive risk culture with early identification, ownership, and escalation.
• Serve as SME and advisor to project, regional, and executive leadership.
• Lead identification, assessment, mitigation, monitoring, escalation, and closure of risks and opportunities.
• Build and maintain risk registers with ownership, mitigation, and escalation paths.
• Evaluate delivery risks across design, permitting, interconnection, procurement, and commissioning.
• Consolidate regional risks to identify portfolio-level exposures and mitigation priorities.
• Promote identification and realization of opportunities related to cost, schedule, and constructability.
• Develop qualitative and quantitative risk analysis and schedule risk analysis (SRA).
• Assess cost exposure, schedule uncertainty, critical-path risks, and milestones.
• Develop risk-based contingency recommendations and governance of reserves.
• Provide risk insights for investment decisions and major contracts.
• Create dashboards and analytics for visibility into risk exposure and trends.
• Monitor mitigation progress and escalation requirements.
• Support governance forums with risk information and analysis.
