Job summary
Upstream, part of DN Media Group, is seeking a correspondent to illuminate how North American energy companies navigate climate change and geopolitical challenges. Based in Houston, you will report on the US and Canada energy sectors for a global readership, with travel to offshore, shale, LNG and related energy projects.
You will join the international Upstream news team and contribute to live events and newsletters, working remotely with strong support from the Editor-in-Chief.
Qualifications
- Proven ability to report and write exclusive news and to write breaking news quickly and accurately.
- Ability to work independently to produce original stories and build strong source networks.
- Strong online news-reporting, feature-writing and people skills.
- Knowledge and experience of the upstream oil and gas business are strongly preferred.
- Bachelor's degree at minimum.
Responsibilities
- Deliver exclusive news, big-picture analytical coverage, features and commentary.
- Break news about the US/Canada energy sectors and related technology, politics and finance.
- Cover carbon capture and storage, renewables and low-carbon projects for Upstream and Accelerate Carbon Capture.
- Provide coverage for special editions, show dailies and major industry conferences.
- Some travel is required for this role.
