Job summary

Holderness School seeks a full-time Nordic Program Director to promote passion and spirit for Nordic skiing while leading the school’s on-snow program. The role oversees the Davis Cross Country Ski Trails, recruits and coaches, and builds a strong ski community through competitions and events.

The position works with the Snow Sports Director and school leadership to ensure a high-performance, inclusive program, with responsibilities spanning events, travel, and ongoing program development

Qualifications

• Interest in and demonstrated skill working with adolescents.
• Knowledge of ski training and technique.
• Ability to connect with junior racers.
• Ability to collaborate and work as part of a team.
• A commitment to an inclusive community; experience or interest in integrating diversity, equity and inclusion into the curriculum is essential.
• Ability to make contributions to the School outside of snow sports, including athletics, extra-curricular programs, and residential programming.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, develop, mentor, and coach the Holderness School Nordic Ski Team.
• Collaborate with Head Coach to develop training and competition plans for the Nordic team and Nordic Club Eastern Cup Skiers.
• Coordinate with Facilities, CFO, and snowmaking on snow management and grooming.
• Plan and host Lakes Region league events, state Coaches Series, and NENSA Eastern Cup races and Championships.
• Maintain training records, race schedules, and skier evaluations; review with athletes and parents.
