Job summary

Lucia Mar Unified School District is seeking Noon Duty Supervisors to oversee student safety during drop-off/pick-up at Harloe Elementary, Ocean View Elementary, and Oceano Elementary. Shifts run 2–2.25 hours daily, Monday through Friday, within a 192-day work year.

Salary is hourly, with benefits as part of classified staff compensation. Responsibilities include enforcing school rules, monitoring traffic, and reporting incidents to the principal while ensuring a positive and safe environment

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or its equivalent.
• Must be able to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions.
• Read, understand, and apply a variety of policies, rules, and regulations.
• Analyze situations and apply inductive and deductive reasoning.
• Ability to direct children in an effective and courteous manner.
• Act quickly and with mature judgment.
• Bilingual: English/Spanish (preferred).
• Valid California driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Assists certificated employees with preventive discipline to explain school rules to students and parents.
• Supervises and controls student behavior with staff.
• Stops fights and other dangerous situations to maintain campus safety.
• Completes necessary written reports for accurate recordkeeping.
• Escorts students to administrators for handling violations.
• Intervenes in potential disruption or injury situations.
• Patrols campus and surrounding areas to supervise students outside class.
• Supervises detention and other areas as assigned.
• Other related duties as assigned.
