Job summary

Everstand, a nonprofit organization, is seeking a Staff Accountant in Baltimore, MD on-site. The role supports monthly close, general ledger, and financial reporting under the Director of Finance, including payroll liaison with HR and Ignite. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• 2+ years of progressive accounting experience including month-end close.
• Solid working knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
• Experience with payroll accounting and reconciliation.
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and lookups.
• Ability to work onsite in Baltimore five days per week.

Responsibilities

• Carry out month-end close tasks and support general ledger activities.
• Prepare, document, and post journal entries and reconciliations.
• Coordinate payroll data between HR and payroll systems and ensure accuracy.
• Record payroll costs, taxes, and related accruals in the accounting system.
• Support revenue, grants, and program accounting and reporting.
