Christel House Indianapolis is seeking a full-time Staff Accountant to support general accounting, grant reimbursements, and budget reporting for a nonprofit education organization.

The role requires attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and comfort handling multiple priorities while maintaining accurate financial records. Familiarity with nonprofit accounting and Excel is highly valued.

Qualifications

• 0-3 years related experience in general accounting.
• Self-starter with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Experience in nonprofit accounting and grant reimbursement preferred.
• Familiarity with educational institutions is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Track and allocate general and administrative costs to funds and entities.
• Record bank activity, deposits, transfers, payroll, and entries.
• Ensure receipts are coded according to budgets.
• Coordinate local grant reconciliations and reimbursements.
• Assist in tracking costs to grants, funds, and entities and in reporting to grant bodies.
• Prepare reconciliations of bank and balance sheet accounts and participate in month-end processes.
• Assist in annual budget, audits, and other compliance filings.
