Job summary

Corpus Christi Housing Authority is seeking a Staff Accountant to support the Deputy Chief Financial Officer in accounting and financial reporting. Responsibilities include monthly closings, year-end reports for the auditor, budgeting, and HUD-related reporting.

The role requires GAAP knowledge, grant/cost accounting experience, and proficiency in Excel and Yardi Systems. The individual will interact with staff, residents, and the public, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
• Minimum of one year direct accounting experience.
• Ability to drive and operate Authority vehicle.
• Flexibility to work hours outside 8-5 and in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Revenue and Expense reports and monthly closing and cost accounting reports.
• Prepare journal entries and reconcile general ledger on subsidiary accounts; prepare monthly financial statements.
• Assist with bank reconciliations and year-end audit documentation.
