Job summary

The Trefler Foundation is seeking a Program Assistant to support grantmaking programs and community outreach. This role reports to the Foundation’s President and will help develop the Foundation’s presence on social media, refresh branding, and connect with grantees to advance their work.

Ideal candidates hold a bachelor’s degree in education, public policy, health, or related fields, and demonstrate strong written and communication skills, plus knowledge of social media and community

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education, public policy, health or another area related to the Foundation’s foci.
• Interest in how nonprofits are operated and managed and the role of nonprofits in community action and change.
• Strong written and communication skills; excellent editing skills.
• Knowledge of social media and ability to use social media to accomplish strategic goals.
• Demonstrated engagement in community service or community activities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and further develop the Foundation and its grantees on social and other media, refresh branding materials, maintain website, and connect to grantees to support their work through social media strategies.
• Develop relationships with staff representing the Foundation’s grantees and monitor their activities.
• Assist in assessing new grant opportunities, including reviewing proposals, evaluating organizations, site visits, and final disposition of requests.
• Prepare written reports, white papers, and updates for Foundation leadership.
• Represent the Foundation at public events, grantee events, and community gatherings to learn about opportunities and engagement strategies.
