Job summary

The Hobe Sound Nature Center is seeking an Operations Manager to lead day-to-day operations, budgeting, purchasing, memberships, and facilities. This leadership role works with the Executive Director, staff, and the Board to strengthen systems and advance the mission while participating in environmental education and events.

Responsibilities include overseeing financial systems, vendor management, reporting, and CRM initiatives, ensuring accuracy and compliance across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance, nonprofit management, public administration, science, education, or related field.
• Five or more years of progressively responsible nonprofit operations, finance, or administration experience.
• Experience budgeting, monitoring financial performance, and supporting financial reporting.
• Strong proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office, including data-management tools and CRM systems.
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and ability to work with staff, executives, and boards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, manage, monitor, and forecast the organization’s annual budget and financial performance.
• Collaborate with bookkeeper to handle bookkeeping, invoicing, reconciliations, and tax reporting.
• Track revenue from donations, memberships, programs, events, and gift shop.
• Provide regular financial reports to the Executive Director and Board of Directors.
• Oversee CRM, fundraising, membership systems, and donor communications.
• Coordinate vendor and facility management, IT systems, and operational services.
• Support strategic planning, organizational goals, and long-term initiatives.
