Job summary

Plan International USA is seeking a Controller (Finance, Compliance & Systems) to lead the accounting function, strengthen internal controls, and modernize financial systems including Dynamics 365, Power BI, and Ramp. The role ensures audit readiness, federal grant compliance, and accurate financial reporting for senior leadership.

The position combines traditional controller duties with system stewardship and data-driven decision support, reporting to the CFO and serving on the Senior

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, nonprofit accounting, restricted funds, fund accounting, and donor-designated fund management, required

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly and year-end close process with accuracy, timeliness, and GAAP compliance
• Oversee internal controls, policies, and procedures and the general ledger
• Manage accounts payable, payroll, benefits, and cash operations
• Lead audit readiness, regulator filings, and Form 990 preparation
• Develop NICRA, cost accounting, and indirect cost rate management
• Lead Power BI reporting and financial data governance
• Collaborate with Grants, development, and operations teams
• Provide staff leadership and cross-functional finance support
