National Association of Black Accountants, Inc. seeks a Director of Finance & Accounting (Controller) in Greenbelt, MD. This full-time role leads accounting operations and ensures accurate, timely financial reporting for a nonprofit.

You will oversee general ledger, month-end close, internal controls, audits, tax compliance, donor funds, and budgeting with the CFO. 10+ years of experience and CPA/CMA preferred.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of accounting and financial management experience.
• 5+ years in a leadership role.
• Controller-level experience with audits and regulatory compliance.
• Significant nonprofit and fund accounting experience.
• Strong budgeting and forecasting capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead accounting operations, GL, AP/AR, payroll, day-to-day cash management, and close processes.
• Ensure accurate financial statements, GAAP compliance, and timely reporting.
• Oversee internal controls, tax compliance, and donor fund accounting.
• Coordinate annual financial statement audits and IRS filings.
• Develop and mentor accounting staff and collaborate with departments.
