Met Council in New York seeks an Associate Counsel with a passion for serving the poor to draft and review contracts with funders, partners, consultants, and service providers for the agency.

The role supports contract administration, board matters, insurance requirements, and compliance, advising leadership across departments on legal risk and governance. JD with NY Bar in good standing and 3 years of contract experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) required; admission to the New York State Bar.
• Three years' experience in contract review, drafting and compliance.
• Excellent research, writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Draft and review contracts with funders, partners, consultants, and service providers.
• Assist in contract administration, board matters, insurance requirements and compliance.
• Coordinate with governance processes and track deadlines.
• Advise leadership on legal risk and governance considerations.
• Support ongoing compliance initiatives across the agency.
