Job summary

The Giving Foundation in Richmond, VA, is seeking an Independent Contractor Nonprofit Consultant to support project management, client coordination, and tactical implementation across nonprofit engagements. You will serve as a trusted partner to clients and the internal team, focusing on operations and HR processes, driving deliverables, and optimizing workflows for small nonprofits in the Richmond region.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the accountable consultant for small nonprofit client products in operations and/or HR operations - tracking timelines, milestones, client action items, and defining an creating deliverables.
• Communicates regularly with Giving Foundation clients to track progress, clarify next steps, and ensure alignment on deliverables.
• Keeps clients on task and on time by coordinating workflows, surfacing risks, and proactively addressing bottlenecks.
• Using the client 'findings and recommendations' reports as guides, leads the creation and implementation of The Giving Foundation's recommended solutions.
• Supports change management efforts related to new structural and behavioral changes needed within assigned client organizations.
• Tracks implementation successes, and setbacks, reporting all back into The Giving Foundation team, followed by recommended starts, stops, or shifts within our nonprofit client work.
• Works in partnership with Giving Foundation team members to strengthen client solutions, project delivery, and project success reporting.
• Recommends and supports the refinement of Giving Foundation tools, templates, and implementation methodologies that advance desired outcomes within client organizations.

The Giving Foundation 501(c)3 leads three programs: The Giving Wall, Many Hands, and The Giving Workplace. About This Independent Contractor Opportunity

This IC role provides project management, client coordination, and tactical implementation support across nonprofit consulting engagements.

The Nonprofit Consultant serves as both a trusted partner to our clients and thought-partner to The Giving Foundation team.

This role requires a detail-oriented individual who has experience working with, for, or alongside nonprofits, who enjoys optimizing processes, implementing new systems, discovering new tools toward productivity and ease, building trusting relationships, and contributing to the mission of small nonprofits within the Richmond, Virginia region.
