Job summary

Christ Church is seeking a Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day nonprofit accounting, maintain records, and ensure financial integrity. The role requires meticulous attention to detail and proficiency in nonprofit accounting standards. Experience with Shelby is preferred and an Associate degree in accounting is required.

Responsibilities include monthly reporting, budget monitoring, AR management, and support during annual audits, in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of nonprofit bookkeeping experience.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• Proficiency with Shelby accounting software.
• Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP.

Responsibilities

• Maintain day-to-day accounting for the nonprofit and ensure accurate records.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards.
• Monitor budgets, provide real-time budget reports to program directors.
• Manage accounts receivable and collections, including tuition payments.
• Coordinate with external auditors and support annual audit.
