Job summary

IRIS: Integrated Refugee & Immigrant Services in New Haven, CT, is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead financial operations within a hybrid/remote environment. The role oversees payroll, general ledger, and grant accounting while managing a high-performing team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field required.
• CPA preferred.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit fund accounting.
• Experience with grant management and annual audits.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations and payroll administration.
• Supervise accounting staff including Staff Accountant and Grant Accountant.
• Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and GAAP.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports.
• Coordinate annual audits and Single Audits; assist with Form 990.
