IRIS is a dynamic immigrant services agency based in New Haven, CT, seeking an Accounting Manager to lead the Finance & Accounting team. This full-time role oversees payroll, financial reporting, grant accounting, audits, and internal controls while guiding a high-performing accounting staff.

The ideal candidate brings nonprofit accounting experience, a bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance, and knowledge of GAAP and grant compliance.

Formación

• Hands-on payroll processing and payroll management experience.
• Nonprofit accounting and grant management experience strongly preferred.
• GAAP and nonprofit fund accounting knowledge.
• Experience with federal and state grants and Uniform Guidance / Single Audit.

Responsabilidades

• Oversee general ledger and all accounting functions.
• Supervise monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial transactions.
• Ensure timely financial reporting and GAAP compliance.
• Maintain internal controls and grant reporting compliance.
• Supervise payroll processes and payroll-related accounting.
• Coordinate audits and regulatory filings.
• Manage staff including Senior Accountant, Staff Accountant, and Grant Accountant.

Educación

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
