Confidential, a nonprofit organization in Encino, CA, seeks an Accounting Manager to own the financial operations and partner with leadership to steward resources.

You will lead fund accounting, close processes, and reporting while developing staff, ensuring GAAP compliance, donor restrictions adherence, and audit readiness. This is an onsite role four days per week with strong mission alignment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with ≥2 years in people management.
• Nonprofit fund accounting experience essential with knowledge of fund structures and donor restrictions.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
• Strong command of nonprofit GAAP and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Own the month-end and year-end close processes from start to finish.
• Oversee fund accounting across all funds and donor restrictions.
• Prepare financial statements and management reports for leadership.
• Lead balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Mentor accounting staff and foster accountability and growth.
• Coordinate with external auditors to ensure year-round audit readiness.
