Job summary

GoochlandCares in Virginia is seeking an Accountant who enjoys detail-oriented financial work, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting. The role partners with the CFO and Finance Manager to manage the monthly close, prepare financial statements, and maintain accounting systems for a nonprofit organization.

Ideal candidate has at least three years of nonprofit accounting experience, strong Excel skills, and proficiency with QuickBooks Online; BI reporting experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible accounting experience within a nonprofit organization.
• Experience performing month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Experience utilizing QuickBooks Online

Responsibilities

• Manage monthly close and financial reporting processes.
• Maintain accuracy and integrity of general ledger and financial data.
• Prepare journal entries and supporting documentation.
• Coordinate with programs and development on donor and grant accounting.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analyses.
