Job summary

Caritas, Inc is seeking an Accountant to support the CFO at our on-site Richmond location. The role focuses on grant management and accounting across multiple revenue streams, with emphasis on revenue recognition and reporting.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of accounting experience, a nonprofit/grant background, and strong communication. Proficiency with QuickBooks, MS Office, and Google Workspace is preferred, with a clear path to annual audits and year-end closes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of broad accounting experience required.
• Nonprofit/grant experience is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
• QuickBooks experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries and reconciliations.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and assist with audits.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes.
• Assist with budgets and forecasts and with financial reports.
• Handle reimbursement submissions and grant-related activities.
