Job summary

Cedarstone is seeking a full-time Nonprofit Accountant to join our Financial Operations team. This role handles day-to-day accounting for a portfolio of nonprofit clients, ensuring financial operations are accurate, compliant, and timely.

You will manage GL maintenance, closings, AP/AR, and prepare financial statements and board reports, with a focus on GAAP and clear guidance for leadership. Experience with audits and Form 990 filings is a plus.

Nonprofit Accountant

Cedarstone is seeking a full-time Nonprofit Accountant to join our Financial Operations team. This hands‑on role is designed to serve as a day‑to‑day trusted accountant to a dedicated portfolio of nonprofit clients, ensuring their financial operations run smoothly, accurately, and compliantly. Working in a highly collaborative, client‑facing capacity, you will manage general ledger maintenance, perform monthly/quarterly/annual closings, execute AP/AR reconciliations, and produce timely financial packages and board‑level reporting. Additionally, you will support annual external audits and Form 990 filings, assist with client onboarding, and provide clear, actionable financial guidance to client leadership teams to help them make confident decisions. Sage Intacct experience is a big plus.

This position may be a good fit for someone who is a curious, framework‑oriented problem solver with strong GAAP knowledge, advanced spreadsheet skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a passion for building trusted relationships with nonprofit leaders.

The role is 40 hours per week, Monday‑Friday during business hours, and may be performed remotely.
