Job summary

Cedarstone is seeking a full-time Nonprofit Accountant to join our Financial Operations team. This role will be day-to-day trusted accounting for a portfolio of nonprofit clients, ensuring financial operations run smoothly, accurately, and compliantly.

You will manage general ledger maintenance, close cycles, AP/AR reconciliations, and deliver timely financial packages and board-level reporting, while supporting audits and Form 990 filings and providing clear guidance to client leadership.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting for nonprofits.
• Strong advanced Excel skills and data analysis.
• Experience with general ledger maintenance and monthly closings.

Responsibilities

• Maintain general ledger and perform monthly/quarterly/annual closings.
• Prepare timely financial packages and board reports.
• Support external audits and Form 990 filings.
• Assist with client onboarding and financial guidance to leadership.

Full-Time | Remote, Hybrid, or In-Person | ExemptCedarstone is seeking a full-time Nonprofit Accountant to join our Financial Operations team.This hands‑on role is designed to serve as a day‑to‑day trusted accountant to a dedicated portfolio of nonprofit clients, ensuring their financial operations run smoothly, accurately, and compliantly. Working in a highly collaborative, client‑facing capacity, you will manage general ledger maintenance, perform monthly/quarterly/annual closings, execute AP/AR reconciliations, and produce timely financial packages and board‑level reporting. Additionally, you will support annual external audits and Form 990 filings, assist with client onboarding, and provide clear, actionable financial guidance to client leadership teams to help them make confident decisions.This position may be a good fit for someone who is a curious, framework‑oriented problem solver with strong GAAP knowledge, advanced spreadsheet skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a passion for building trusted relationships with nonprofit leaders. Sage Intacct experience is a big plus.

The role is 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday during business hours, and may be performed remotely
