Job summary

Trinity Health Of New England Medical Group in the United States is seeking a Registered Vascular Specialist to join our Vascular Surgery office. The Vascular Specialist conducts noninvasive vascular tests, sets up equipment, gathers pertinent information from patients, explains test procedures, and observes patients during procedures to alert physicians of any abnormalities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with up to one year of basic technical training in allied health science.
• RVT Certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Receives requests for procedures and arranges for patient testing by ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are available to perform requested test.
• Interviews patients to gather and record pertinent personal and medical information, and performs physical examination including blood pressure, peripheral pulse assessment, and limb inspection.
• Explains test procedures to patients and/or family members to alleviate fears and gain cooperation.
• Instructs and/or assists patients in preparing for test procedures.
• Determines patient and equipment positioning to obtain graphic responses during tests.
• Operates specialized equipment to conduct non-invasive vascular tests.
• Observes patients during procedures and notifies physicians or nursing staff of irregularities.
