Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Manassas, VA is seeking a Nondestructive Testing (NDT) Technician to support data center critical systems from conception to completion.

Expect independent work and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders while delivering on milestones and overseeing equipment procurement and upkeep. The ideal candidate has 1+ years in electrical/mechanical settings, strong communication, and a background in supporting critical infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Electrical or mechanical background with data center facilities experience.
• Experience reading and writing procedures, technical documents, and engineering drawings.
• Understanding of optics, thermodynamics, electromagnetism and material science.
• 1–2 years of Non‑Destructive Testing discipline experience.
• Ability to recognize safety concerns and maintain NFPA 70e compliant practices.

Responsibilities

• Safety Ambassador responsible for driving a culture of safety.
• Maintain security protocol compliance and motivate others to do the same.
• Use CMMS to schedule and oversee Nondestructive Testing maintenance.
• Escalate safety, security and facilities issues to management as required.
• Deploy and support standard NDT practices.
• Communicate complex technical information to a non‑technical audience.
• Interact with engineers, technicians, project managers and management daily.
• Develop detailed and creative solutions with timelines and cost awareness.
• Oversee projects and address root causes of facility issues.
• Execute predictive and preventive maintenance programs.
• Document inspection discrepancies and defects in reports.
• Interpret inspection data and perform qualitative/quantitative analysis.
• Provide cross‑functional support to the Battery team.
