Job description

Your responsibilities include providing high-quality meat and seafood products with expert knowledge, meeting specific cut, trim, or prepared consumer-sized portions for customers.

Daily Operations
  1. Providing exceptional service to all customers and sharing expertise on meat and seafood
  2. Assuming Meat Manager responsibilities in their absence as requested
  3. Assisting the Meat Manager with daily duties
  4. Receiving trucks and breaking down loads into coolers
  5. Cutting and preparing meat and seafood to meet specified portions, ensuring proper rotation in the meat case
Company Standards
  • Following safety guidelines and avoiding use of equipment if safety mechanisms are bypassed
  • Reporting any safety issues to the Meat Manager
  • Using the markdown program as per department policy
  • Adhering to all company policies, including dress code, wearing a name tag, and completing required training for the meat department
  • Staying current with training and knowledge related to meat and seafood
  • Qualified as CIU Apprentice/UFCW Journeyman
Basic Functions and Physical Requirements

Ability to lift 60 lb. boxes occasionally and exert 25-60 lbs. of force frequently, and 10-20 lbs. constantly. Dexterous use of both hands is required. Must be able to stand, move between workstations, and lift, carry, push, and pull items as needed. Ability to use knives and other sharp tools for food preparation is essential. This role involves medium physical work, requiring good vision and hearing, and the ability to work on slippery floors, with activities including lifting, stooping, kneeling, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
